Description

Our Coara Fingering is the shy member of the coara clan. It is a woollen spun light fingering or 4ply weight yarn and great for not just lace style projects but her wooliness means she can hold her own in colour work too.
Spun in Yorkshire using British fibres in a blend of 70% Blue faced Leicester and 30% Shetland. Simon & Kirsty have then lovingly added their natural dye magic using both local and ancient dyes to achieve their colour palette.

The number of shades of blue we see in our landscape are infinite! The graduating tones of blue in the sky, lightening the closer to land the sky is. From the gunmetal navy in the deep depths of the sea to the bright aqua dancing above the sand with the waves. And then our favourite; the subtle pastel blue shades of the mountains that will change as the sun rises and sets. To try and capture each of these shades with natural dyes is a never ending pursuit!

A busy Saturday here winding wool, fixing winding A busy Saturday here winding wool, fixing winding machines even wallpapering a room! The best bit by far was looking after our neighbours sheep. It really felt like spring today so we were desperate to get outside. Our neighbour is 84 and it isn’t often he has a day off the sheep.. his stamina is incredible, as are his beautiful sheep x

British alpaca... maybe our squishiest yarn base w British alpaca... maybe our squishiest yarn base we have! A busy day here getting lots of these lovely skeins labelled and ready for an exciting pattern release coming soon. The yarn base is a natural fawn colour so when we use our natural dyes on top there is a lovely warmth and depth to the shades x
