Shilasdair was started over 40 years ago by Eva Lambert. Situated in Waternish on Skye Evas passion for natural dyes blossomed from a small cottage industry to a world renowned business.
Evas knowledge in the field of natural dyes is exceptional and we are so thrilled that Eva has shared this knowledge with us and that we can continue the Shilasdair tradition.
Simon and Kirsty have been living on Skye for over 10 years. Making this their home they have 2 children and run the award winning Glenview restaurant with rooms. They changed 4 years ago to Skye Pie café. Kirsty has always been interested in natural dyeing and has made and sold her work in The Glenview gallery for the last three years. When the opportunity arose last year to continue Shilasdair she jumped at the chance!
“It is a ‘pinch yourself opportunity to upscale my natural dyeing and I feel honoured to carry on the work of Eva and Tony Lambert.”
