✨Our really special dk yarn- a blend of Merino and Shetland fibres: Aussie & Scot- just like Simo and I ❤️✨😊
✨it knits up like butter and is a really versatile yarn.. the skeins are 60g each so even just two go a long way.
✨all dyed here on the Isle of Skye with many local dye plants using our special well water 🪄🧶❤️🌱🧡

💛we have gone a little pumpkin crazy here at Shilasdair HQ!
❤️we have been putting together these pumpkin knitting kits and they are online now 😄
🧡whip yourself up a patch in no time at all- they are such an easy and quick make
💛each kit contains 2 x 50g skeins of our naturally dyed blue faced Leicester and Shetland chunky yarn, a pair of needles, a darning needle, pattern and green yarn for a stalk
❤️they are a great project for beginners and expert knitters alike

✨we have had an amazingly good spell of weather

✨we have had an amazingly good spell of weather here on Skye- a welcome sunshine top up and a wonderful opportunity to gather more dye plants before the autumn really takes hold.
✨on Sunday we gathered ling heather in the afternoon sun… it’s an amazingly generous dye plant which is one of our go to dyes.
✨the drying room is now chocka block with heather - we have enough now to keep our dye pots going over the winter.. giving us a top up of sunshine yellow whenever we need it ☀️😊🌱
